Description: E. bank of mill leat close to River Taw, 400 yd. N. 34 degrees W. of the Barton. Looking from SW. River Taw terrace gravel. Coarse, poorly-rounded gravel of the highest level terrace representing north of the Crediton-Okehampton road. Boulders and pebbles are largely of Culm-derived rocks of local origin, with occasional vein quartz, hornfels and rare granite. The matrix is a clayey sand, usually of pinkish brown colour.
