Description: | Stone Quarry, 600 yd. S. 40 degrees W. of Warden. Permian volcanic conglomerate in Stone Quarry. Close-up view of quarry face showing irregular lava fragments (dark) in cementing matrix of calcitic, fine, spotted sandstone. The prominent reaction rims around the lava in the lower right quarter and the difference in orientation of vesicles in fragments near the top and bottom of the photograph are noteworthy. Induration of the sandstone is most marked in the upper right-hand corner. |
