Caption: Binny Craig, 0.4 km. west of Oatridge, Ecclesmachan. West Lothian.
Description: The base of the sill approximately follows the top of the grassy slope with mainly sediments below. General dip of the bedding is to right of picture but some transgression of sill from one horizon to another is shown at the left-hand end and at right centre of picture. Details of the summit crag of Binny Craig. It is formed of a Carboniferous quartz-dolerite sill. The rock, being harder than the surrounding sedimentary rocks has resisted erosion and hence remains a positive high feature.
