Description: Disused quarry 600 yd. NE of Lower Eggbeer. Looking W. Interbedded sandstone and cleaved mudstone, Exeter-type Culm Measures. View west to west wall of quarry showing Culm sandstones with subordinate mudstone bands (Exeter-type Culm) dipping at 45 degrees to the north. The hammer shaft lies along the cleavage in the mudstones, the cleavage dipping to the north at about 25 degrees. This indicates that the beds are inverted. (See also photograph A10086.)
