Description: Binny Craig, 0.4 km. west of Oatridge, Ecclesmachan. West Lothian. Steep west face of Binny Craig showing radial jointing in the sill at right-hand end, this is caused by stresses set up when the sill cooled from a molten state. The base of the sill runs approximately at the foot of the crag. The sill dips away from the observer at an angle of 25 degrees and is about 120 feet thick. In the foreground lies a deep glacial hollow.
