Description: | Binny Craig, 0.4 km. west of Oatridge, Ecclesmachan. West Lothian. View of the hollow in front of the west face of Binny Craig running north-south. Also steep glacially formed 'crag' of 'crag and tail' of Binny Craig. The hollow is caused by erosion in the softer Carboniferous sedimentary rocks by the ice as it swept past the hard resistant Binny Craig quartz-dolerite sill. On the right one of the five glacial channels that traverse the ridge can be seen. |
