Above this the cliff is wholly in Upper Chalk, and the regular bands of flint nodules characteristic of the Micraster coranguinum Zone can be clearly seen. In the distance Shakespeare Cliff is in Lower and Middle Chalk capped by the lowest beds of the Upper Chalk. |
