Caption: Lower Beeding, Prings Farm. Looking SW.
Description: Lower Beeding, Prings Farm. Looking SW. Dip-slope of Horsham Stone and the valley at Maplehurst. The uncut hay in the foreground is growing on a dip-slope of Horsham Stone. The ridge upon which the house stands marks the line of a strike fault which repeats the succession, so the wooded escarpment beyond (south of) the house is also formed by Horsham Stone, dipping south. The South Downs, with Chanctonbury Ring at left, form the skyline beyond the low-lying country of the Weald Clay.
