Description: Little Cliffsend, Pegwell Bay, near Ramsgate. Looking N. Frost-shattered Chalk. The Chalk presents the appearance of a 'boulder bed' of varied sizes of chalk fragments, but it is believed that it has been mechanically broken up in place by frost-heaving. It is possible that faulting in the Chalk may have accentuated the effects of frost at this locality.
