Description: Redcliff Point, Pegwell Bay, near Ramsgate. Looking NW. Contact of Thanet Beds and Upper Chalk. The 6-inch bed of green-coated flints (known as the Bullhead Bed') at the base of the Thanet Beds rests disconformably on Chalk of the Marsupites Zone. Pink and green, glauconitic sandy, marls about 3 ft. thick with prominent worm-burrows, overlie the 'Bullhead Bed' and pass up into less sandy olive-green marls (these are blue-grey when unweathered). Gravel and Head Brickearth occur at the top of the section.
