Description: High and Over Hill, near Alfriston. Looking S. Downstream view of the Cuckmere Gap. The river has been artificially straightened and is now contained between artificial levees. The remnants of former meander channels can be seen in the foreground and the top right of the picture. The steep eastern side of the valley shows well developed terracettes, a hillcreep feature, which occasionally expose chalk. The eastern side of the valley has been extensively reafforested.
