Description: Quarries near Betchworth, Dorking. Looking WNW. Lime burning of Lower Chalk. The excavation is digging the dull greyish somewhat marly Lower Chalk. Earlier working exposed an extensive higher section of mainly white Middle Chalk with numerous marly seams, and few flints at the top.
