Description: [Headwaters of the River Avan; the road between Treorchy and Abergwynfi]. Looking NW. The view is of the headwaters of the River Avan; the road between Treorchy and Abergwynfi can be seen to the left of the stream. A slight feature at the horizon of No. 1 Rhondda lies high in the hill in the middle distance, and abandoned mouths of workings in the No. 2 Rhondda are visible lower down the slope. The skyline shows the gentle undulations of the coalfield plateau.
