Description: Kingsdown. Looking N. View northwards of cliffs of Upper Chalk (Micraster conranguinum Zone) from near Kingsdown and Walmer Golf Club House. Old screes at the foot of the cliffs are clothed in vegetation. The prominent 'apron' of shingle (up to 300 yards wide) protects the cliffs from marine erosion. The Chalk cliffs of the Isle of Thanet are faintly visible on the horizon.
