Description: Denne's Chalk Pit, Canterbury. Looking NE. Chalk quarrying. Chalk, in Zone of Micraster coranguinum, has been worked by hand in inverted conical diggings. The apex of the come fed the dislodged chalk in the railway tubs. The remains of individual cones can be seen in the upper part of the quarry face.
