Description: Trefil Quarries. Looking E. Trefil Limestone Quarries. A well-banded grey limestone of Upper Seminula Zone. It is in general compact, but in places is shelly or oolitic. Its top is penetrated by large swallow-holes, one of which is shown. These are filled with loose material from the Millstone Grit, which overlies the limestone unconformably.
