Description: | From near the cemetery, Llan Foist, 1 m. S. of Abergavenny. Blorenge Mountain. Old Red Sandstone capped with Carboniferous Limestone. The Carboniferous Limestone (Cleistopora Zone) is about 100 ft. thick and is shown by two lines of quarries. The bare hillside below is the Quartz Conglomerate and Brownstones subdivisions of the Old Red Sandstone. The wooded tract is the Senni Beds, underlain in the foreground by the Red Marl subdivision. |
