Description: Long valley, 2 m. NW of Aldershot Station. Looking E. Rapid erosion, by an intermittent stream, in Barton Sand. The stream, which flows only after heavy rain, having cut through the gravel of Eelmoor plain (Long valley) into the underlying Barton Sand is rapidly widening its bed by undercutting its banks (see A3240 and A3241). This process results in the planing off of the gravel.
