Description: Shotover Hill Brickyard, Headington. Looking S. Concretionary masses, known as 'Giant's Marbles' in the sands of the Pectinatus Zone of the Kimmeridge Clay. The nodules are highly fossiliferous and from one of them the type of Pectinatites pectinatus (Phill.) was obtained by Phillips. The sands were at one time regarded as equivalent to the Lower Portland of Dorset.
