Description: Lewes Cement and Lime Works, Southerham. Looking ENE. The Ouse at Southerham and Cliffe. A similar view to No. A2958, but showing the whole length of the Snowdrop Pit, on the left. This pit takes its name from an adjacent inn in the site of a destructive avalanche of snow, which fell from the bluff on 27th December, 1836, and killed eight persons.
