The overburden is boulder clay. For sequence see 'Geol. Mag.', 1922, pp.81-3. Succession seen: 6. Saccamina Beds. 5. Sandstone, thin partly overlying, partly filling. 4. Potholes Bed (hollows) (see A2795). 3. Spotted Beds, a mudstone near the top filling hollows. 2. Rough Beds (in limestone below) (A2796-7). 1. White Beds (upper 26 ft. of).
