Description: Devil's Den, about 1/2 m. NNE of Fyfield. Looking N. The Devil's Den. Remains of a long barrow chamber, built of sarsens. The barrow has been nearly all removed; probably to enable the ground it occupied to be cultivated; the chamber or 'kistvaen' being at present surrounded by arable land. The Den stands on the lower western side-slope of Clatford Bottom (north), an open valley in the Middle and Upper Chalk. A train of sarsens follows the valley: a few of them can be discerned in the background, to the right of the Devil's Den.
