Description: Gilla Head Bay, 0.8 km. east of Macduff. Banffshire. Deserted cliffs no longer attacked by wave action are seen at the edge of raised beach. The flat feature above the cliffs is the original surface of the glacial deposits. Rocks in this area are of the Macduff Slate Formation, Southern Highland Group of Precambrian rocks. Hard gritty bands within the slates form the promontory near the building in the centre.
