Description: The Bar' at mouth of River Deveron. Banffshire. The royal burgh of Banff in the distance. The harbour can be seen at the seaward extension of the land. Deflection of the River Deveron by a storm beach travelling westwards. Longshore currents from the east cause a beach drift from the east to west, so forming the bar. Note the coarser material at the highest point of the beach.
