Description: Scout Moor Quarries, 1 m. E. of Edenfield. Looking NE. Millstone Grit. The Rough Rock with an uneven base is separated by a varying thickness of shale from the Haslingden Flags below. Lowest bed seen is a massive freestone ('lonkey') which is worked for setts, etc. The Rough Rock is now crushed for sand.
