Description: Cliff E. of Black Rock, Brighton. Looking SE. Cliff between Black Rock and Beacon Hill. The Black Rock portion of cliff, of dark shade, on the left. Roedean School above the cliff, with Roedean Bottom to right of it. In distance is shaft of Ovingdean Pumping Station, to right of which is Greenway (or Ovingdean) Bottom and Beacon Hill beyond. Between the left-hand limit of view and the salient throwing black angular shadow, the cliff is mainly Coombe Rock (undercut), resting on the raised beach and its platform of Chalk. To right of the salient, the cliff is mainly solid Chalk, capped by Coombe Rock at Roedean and Greenway Bottoms.
