Description: Large quarry, ENE of Newtimber Church. Looking NNW. Newtimber Limeworks Quarry. Showing the junction of the Lower and Middle divisions of the Chalk. The lower part of the quarry is in the massive chalk of the Holaster subglobosus Zone, the bedding first becoming distinct at the Actinocamax plenus Marls, at the top of that Zone. Above is the stratified, marl-seamed, nodular chalk of the Inoceramus labiatus (or Rhynchonella cuvieri) Zone.
