Description: | View from Cairngorm. Looking south to Loch Etchachan, a high-level corrie lochan, altitude 975 m. Carn Etchachan on the right. Part of a panorama with C01369. The loch is partly moraine-dammed but to a great extent it is a rock basin in a trough formed by glacial erosion. Disintegrating granite blocks weathering out in situ are seen in the foreground forming a blockfield, the result of frost and ground-ice weathering. |
