Description: Gravel-pit, Biddenham, 1 3/4 m. W. of Bedford. A boulder consisting of Chalk boulder clay which has been driven into even-bedded gravel of the River Ouse. The gravel is divisable into a lower mass containing many palaeolithic implements, which is even-bedded and an upper layer including boulders of boulder clay but without palaeolithic implements, which presents the appearance of having been laid down by torrents.
