Description: | Allt Druidh. Looking up the Lairig Ghru. Inverness-shire. Gorge eroded in morainic drift. Fluvioglacial terraces in middle distance. The Lairig Ghru is a classic example of a glacial breach, the exact formation of which is still being debated. Theories suggest either excavation by local ice or by fast-flowing streams of ice from external sources or, indeed from a combination of both. |
