Description: Chalk-pit, 1 m. N. of Grays Thurrock, a little W. of the road leading to Stifford. Looking E. Greywethers. Greywethers from the River Gravel overlying Chalk and Thanet Sand. The overburden of River Gravel and Thanet Sand having been removed to expose the Chalk for quarrying, the greywethers are left lying on the surface of the chalk.
