Description: View of the Grand Arch (from boat) Scratchell's Bay. Looking NE. The Grand Arch (oblique view). Overhanging cliffs of Upper Chalk about 300 ft. in height. The slope on right, below the dark tufts of grass, is in the Zone of Micraster cortestudinarium. The arch is in the Zone of Micraster coranguinum, the upper limit of which descends to the water-line about the end of the shadow on left. The higher part of the cliff on left is in the Zones of Marsupites and Offaster pilula, the base of the latter rising to the skyline rather to the right of the highest point.
