Description: Pine Raft' on foreshore below Hanover Point, 1/2 m. SW of Brook. Looking NW. The 'Pine Raft' in Wealden Marls, at Hanover Point. In the foreground is a water-worn trunk of conifer (coverted into hard calcareous stone), about 20 ft. in length. It is fringed with sea-weed, which covers many other trunks and logs on the same reef. The cliff in background shows over 100 ft. of red and purple clays (in the Wealden Marls) with bands of sandstone indicating a northward dip.
