Description: Cliff W. of Blackgang Chine, Chale Bay. Looking NW. Lower Greensand at Chale. Cliff terrace, Chale on skyline to right, stands on the Sandrock Beds, the lowest member of which is the white sandstone (20 ft.) near the top of the cliff. Divisions of Ferruginous Sands represented in the cliff are - in descending order - Clay Bed, forming upper shelf in cliff; Ferruginous Beds of Blackgang Chine; Foliated Clay and Sand, forming lower shelf, covered by mud-flows and talus; and Cliff End Sand, seen in the low bluff immediately above the beach, near the white boats.
