Description: | Reefs, on foreshore, S. side of Culver Cliff, Sandown Bay. Looking SE. Reefs of Lower Chalk and Upper Greensand below Culver Cliff. The parallel reefs in the middle of the view are formed by the edges of the harder beds in the Lower Chalk Zone of Schloenbachia variana. The figure on the right stands on the topmost bed of the Upper Greensand, and points with stick to the base of the Chloritic Marl. The relatively soft middle member of the Chloritic Marls beds is worn into a well-marked trough, holding pools of water. The bedding dips at a high angle to the left.
