Description: Culver Cliff, from foreshore, Whitecliff Bay. Looking NW. Upper Chalk at Whitecliff (a). The slope in shadow on the right follows the bedding-planes in the zone of Belemnitella mucronata, the Eocene (Reading) Beds just appearing in the distance. The upper limit of the Zone of Actinocamex quadratus descends to the shore in the narrow projection or spur to the left of the white heap of fallen chalk. The belt of flintless chalk with green nodules, in the Zones of Offaster pilula and Marsupites testudinarius (See No. A1748) forms the salient mass with dark mark on the left of the view.
