Clay-pit in Etruria Marls for manufacture of blue bricks, tiles, and drain-pipes, etc. The pit is in red marls, with some bands of conglomerate and breccia known as Espley rock, which is rejected as useless. A pile of blocks of this coarse rock is seen on the right of the incline. |
