Description: | Culbin sand-hills. Morayshire. An old land surface, the vegetated area, is seen in the distance on right. Blown-sand dunes surround it and will eventually engulf it. The sand-drift is obliquely from right to left, i.e. from west to east. Note the small-scale sand ripples on the surfaces of the dune. They mimic the processes forming the large dunes. |
