Description: | Culbin sand-hills. Morayshire. A view of the dunes with a band of shingle and small scale sand ripples in the foreground. The steep faces of the blown sand in the distance, the tails of sand behind the tufts of bent, and the wind-ripples in the foreground, indicate that the sand-drift is from left to right, i.e. from west to east. The sand ripples reflect the processes that are forming the larger dunes on a much smaller scale. |
