The steep faces of the blown sand in the distance, the tails of sand behind the tufts of bent, and the wind-ripples in the foreground, indicate that the sand-drift is from left to right, i.e. from west to east. The sand ripples reflect the processes that are forming the larger dunes on a much smaller scale. |
