Description: Clay-pit St. George's Hill, near Weybridge. Looking SW. The exposure shows horizontally-bedded sands of Bagshot age overlain by the lilac-grey clays of the Bracklesham beds. The base of the latter is a band of ironstone, averaging 4 inches in thickness. The clays are in a basin lined by this ironstone, which is seen in the photo. to cut across the sands at an angle of about 32 degrees.
