| Description: | North face (868.38 m.) of Aonach Dubh, Glen Coe. Argyllshire. The rocks are Lower Old Red Sandstone volcanic rocks within the Glencoe Cauldron Subsidence. Thick flows of rhyolite overlie numerous thinner flows of basic andesite. The mythical Ossian's Cave, the conspicuous cleft, has been formed by blocks falling away from a porphyrite dyke of the Etive Swarm. Other dykes are marked by lines of hollow. |
