Description: Point Quarry, West Williamston, Carew. Looking NW. Caninia Oolite (Carboniferous Limestone) penetrated by cavities full of clay-mudstone of C2 age. That part of A959 marked B. At E the mudstone fills a 'pipe' descending through the oolite (of the same part of A959) but elsewhere the cavities filled by the mudstone are irregular, as may be seen from the part picked out in black (right-hand margin). Some surface fragments are scattered about, but the isolated areas of oolite, surrounded by clay-mudstone, some of which are marked O, are live rock, connected now or formerly with continuous oolite.
