Description: | Brent Tor. The Crag of Brent Tor. The foot of the crag is about 1000 feet O.D., and the top of the Tor below the parish church, is about 1100 feet above O.D. The whole of the rock including the foreground is a pillow lava. The crag seems to rise sharply above the 1000 ft. contour, which may be an old platform level. The lava is of Carboniferous age, and rests on the radiolarian chert. |
