Description: Summit of Roughtor, Camelford. Looking NNE. Granite tor. As in A482. A perfect example of a Cornish granite 'tor'; showing the characteristic 'horizontal weathering' in 'bedding'. The structure is essentially developed underground, a little below the surface. The loose material between the blocks is washed away as the rock is exposed. It is thus able to remain dry, as a rule, and is harder than that immediately below the soil.
