The original distillery was close to a well on the hill at the base of the wood at the southern edge of the photograph. The distillery lies on Ballachulish Subgroup rocks with the Appin Group/Grampian Group boundary immediately behind. The Cromdale Hills in the background are formed of Grampian Group psammites with minor semi-pelites. |
