Description: Smith's Glenlivet Distillery, Glenlivet. Looking west across the River Livet to the distillery, producers of the oldest licensed whisky in Scotland. An important use for groundwater. The original distillery was close to a well on the hill at the base of the wood at the southern edge of the photograph. The distillery lies on Ballachulish Subgroup rocks with the Appin Group/Grampian Group boundary immediately behind. The Cromdale Hills in the background are formed of Grampian Group psammites with minor semi-pelites.
