Description: Westfield opencast site. June 1966. North-west corner of excavation. North-north-east plunging syncline in coals and shales of Westfield Passage Group sequence. Looking down plunge. Note upward decrease in fold-amplitude. Axis of syncline shifted dextral transcurrent fault, the trace of which passes from top left of photo down to bend in roadway, thereafter to top right. Lava underlying the coal sequence is visible on left as a light-coloured area just beyond fault trace.
