Description: Shierglas Quarry, 1.6 km. south-east of Blair Atholl. Perthshire. A new quarry opened in a cliff of limestone belonging to the Dark Group of Blair Atholl Series, Dalradian Supergroup. A Ruston-Bucyrus 20-RB crane working in the quarry, it is easily converted to a dragline or shovel excavator. The crane is mounted on its own caterpillar tracks. Note the small nature of the quarry.
