Description: Blaen-cil-coed (North Quarry), Ludchurch. Looking E. Quarry in Carboniferous Limestone. This quarry (in the lower part of the Seminula Zone) shows similar even bedded limestone to that in the No. A365. Half way up, on the left - the base is visible. At one time there was a cave for some distance in along the base but when the photograph was taken it had been filled in with rubbish from the top of the quarry. One or two feet of loaming boulder clay seams at the top. This and the preceding photo (A365) shows the way in which the tilted beds have been planed down to an approximately level surface.
