Description: Langum Ferry South Limestone Quarry, Coedcanlass. Looking E. Quarry in Carboniferous Limestone. The photograph shows the broken character of the Carboniferous Limestone (Dibunophyllum Zone) in a disturbed tract on the south margin of the coalfield. No bedding is visible, but an appearance of it is produced in the centre by numerous parallel planes of intense shearing. The stone is extremely tough and is in demand for use as road metal. The top of the quarry is occupied by loamy boulder clay.
